The 'Perfect' Neighbourhood

"I don't need any help...' Lan snapped, going through her bag to find something to wear.

The maid looked at her current outfit, and judging on the way Lan spoke, came to a conclusion.

" Yes, you do. "

"Fine, lay it on me; Grandma."

" I am NOT that old. And first of all, you don't go making comments. A true lady never speaks her true emotions. "

Lan made a rather rude hand gesture. "I don't care what a proper lady does."

" You'd rather be sent to the slave trade..? "

Lan sighed irritably. "No."

" Then I suggest you change into something alittle more becoming. "

Lan looked at her clothes. 'I happen to like my clothes," she said. "And Ed seems to also." she used a nickname to piss the woman off.

" You aren't to speak that way about Master Edward. And if you want to remain here, I suggest you take my advice. "

"Fine, Edward, Seems to like the way I dress."

" Well his father doesn't approve. I suggest you stop with the smart talk. "

"Why don't I just stop talking all together?" Lan snapped.

" That would be nice. "

She rolled her eyes. But made a locked motion over her mouth. Looking at her nails impatiently.

" Fine, I can just give up on you altogether. Have fun being a slave. "

"N-No... Fine, I'll do whatever you want. Tomorrow."

The maid just shook her head, leaving the room.

Lan sighed, sitting down on the bed. Was this all worth it? Was slavery really so bad?

No, but yes.

Lan just waited for Edward to come back, flipping a fan around as she sat on the bed.

And he eventually did. He didn't say anything to Lan.

"You don't have to ignore me. I'm not going to get mad at you or anything."

" You have every right to be mad at me, but okay. I promise you, this won't go on for long. Just try and.. cooperate. "

Lan nodded a bit, grabbing his hand tightly. "I'm not mad, but I don't enjoy Grandma hassling me."
